We drove down the West Side Highway to the city so we could take our time getting to the Great Lawn to enjoy some downward facing dog. We should've known after passing the exit because we were chatting too much that the night would be full of surprises.
After entering the park at 81st street, we stood on line...and stayed there for about an hour and a half! It was fun getting to know each other better though. We laughed, we moved another foot, you know how it goes...
So after receiving yoga fliers from probably half of the locations in the city, we received our yoga mat and proceeded to stand on yet another line where we would be directed to our spots.
The next step was listening to a man with a fro and 6, no 7, kids on stage, bebopping his way about yoga (YO GA YOGA). And although we had no clue who this man was or what he was doing there, the music was actually pretty good! We danced a bit, watched some super funny moves from a man in all black, and waited for the yoga to begin. It was already a half hour late to the start time!
So finally we began...downward dog, plank, and a few other moves. And then it happened. The end. "Okay folks...we have to stop now because of the rain, but we have a rain date!" What?! Yes, it had begun to rain a few minutes earlier, and the mats were becoming a little slippery, but that's it?!
So the beginning of the end...we walked through streets of downpour and lots of laughter.
Soaked, with our clothes dripping wet, after finally reaching the parking garage to get back home.
Although it wasn't exactly what we were expecting, sometimes the unexpected is the most fun.

I had originally thought you were soaked from sweat until I actually read the post (instead of just looking at the pics). Despite it all it still looks like you had fun and on somewhat of a more positive note at least you weren't wearing an all white shirt!
So funny that you said that because that is what I said to Michelle! So glad we were both wearing bras and not plain white tanks!
