Did you eat more than you expected? Did you choose mostly healthy options?
Are you vegan and enjoyed a great non-turkey day, or did you fill up on meat and potatoes?
I would love to see your comments!
My meal?
I really enjoyed the sweet potato/onion and garlic green bean dishes my mother made, and the white turkey was even pretty good (I'm not always a huge turkey fan, but this was moist and pretty good!). I added a little bit of organic cranberry sauce, and of course a pickle (That seems to always make it's way over to our table thanks to mom!). I made the turnip/yam/squash mash, which was a great combination of antioxidants. A glass of red wine Shiraz from my sister, and the meal was delish!
Dessert?
Black bean brownies and brown rice flour cookies. Yum!
The best part of the meal though?
It was at the very start, when everyone said what they were thankful for and their hope for the next year. It was beautiful and made me love my family even more (if possible!).
