Grammy Fashion - 2011

Let's discuss!

Did you see Lady Antebellum perform? The female (name?) has had many hairstyles, but this time she rocked the latest Sandra Bullock major fringed bang, and she looked HOT! With seafoam green eyeliner and mascara, she looked more like a rock star than a rising star (as she should since they're doing so well!).

Lady Antebellum and other winners

(Below pics from People Magazine online.)

Ciara...one or the other girl! Arms, chest, stomach, leg...
Jennifer Hudson says she is loving fashion more since she has lost weight - well it shows! She is choosing stylish and classy outfits. Her performance outfit was a black top with gold shoulder details and black pants...once again fashionable and sexy without being vulgur.
Jewel is GLOWING! Now THIS is how a pregnant woman should dress. Her pale yellow dress is soft and flowing, allowing space to breathe while still looking fashionable. And don't their smiles say it all? Beautiful.
I'm kind of on the fence about this Kelly Osbourne getup. In some ways I love the spunk and the fact that her hair changes on a daily basis, but I also hate the blond hair with dark roots with this pale purple girly dress. I think if she removed the bow or had red hair with the purple dress I'd appreciate this choice more. Wait - is she a singer?
And what do we think about this from Kim Kardashian? I think she got so much slack over the purple Marchesa dress with little makeup from a couple of weeks ago that she felt she should go vavavoom tonight. I think it worked! THIS is the Kim we all know. She has the curves, she loves the full face and big hair, and she is the epitome of "sex sells." Does she look hot? Yes. If that is what she was going for, it worked. Does she sing either?
I LOVE this look. The perfect hair color with Nicole Kidman's skin tone and makeup coordinate so well with her dress. And doesn't her smile look so genuine? I have to be honest and say that I'm not completely used to seeing that from her, but I love it! The dress seemed a bit strange for this occasion, but when it works it works, and that's how it seems she felt (along with her stylist of course).
Rihanna...okay, so we recently saw photos surface of her 90% naked body (She took photos of herself in underwear, from the front and back.), and I can't say we can be completely shocked by this, and she did look good...so seeing this dress on her is a natural move. Do we like it? In most of the photos, you can only see the outline of her legs, so I do think it's very interesting and unique, and it is very fitting for her. Jean Paul Gaultier did it again. I kind of love it!

(Below pics from In Style Magazine online.)

Amber Riley is showing that she has major style. I LOVE this dress on her. But I think she is either trying too hard or actually think that the painted shoulder detail looks good with this dress. I would say either the dress with the perfectly coordinated hair, or the shoulder/necklace detail with all black.
Heidi Klum looked amazing in this long dress with classy hair. I really like this look better than the short dresses she so often wears. How do you feel about the ruffle detail? The low back is so sexy!
Jennifer Lopez, however, ROCKS the short dresses. I remember seeing her at the VMA's years ago when she wore the headwrap with short sparkly dress and she looked soooo gorgeous (and oddly, the same age). As a mother, I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable wearing this, but hey, she looks great and I say go for it!
 Katy Perry...no. That's all I can say. I like her hair ;)
Naya Rivera looks so appropriate for the Grammy's. And I would TOTALLY wear this, with some kind of pop of course, like red lipstick of a big ring. Isn't it so cool?!
The Smith family...well, I usually love their individual looks and how they combine so nicely, but this time...what is this?

I do have to say that no matter whether you liked Lady Gaga's performance tonight, it was impossible to deny her rockin' body! Could you stop staring?

Who else did you like? Hate? Have any other opinion about? Happy Grammy's!

Great critique of tonight's fashion!

I actually don't mind Rihanna's dress. Although it does kind of look like Rihanna fell into a box of white garlands right before stepping out on the red carpet.

I'll let you be the judge of whether Kelly and Kim are real singers but they both have been/are in the music industry. Kelly had an album or two back in 02/03 and even did a ballad with her father ("Changes"). More recently, Kim has been in the studio with The Dream. I'm pretty sure Kim's song(s) will be hitting the radio any day now.

Did you happen catch Esperanza Spalding's dress?... http://justjared.buzznet.com/2011/02/14/esperanza-spalding-grammy-best-new-artist/

I'm a fan of Esperanza's dress and perhaps her music too even if tonight was the first time I ever listened to her.

I did forget about Kelly, but maybe that's because it was so many years ago and I didn't think people who had a few songs years ago were invited to the Grammy's - would think that would be TONS of people!

And Kim, well she doesn't have anything out yet, so maybe next year instead?

That link didn't work... ?? Would love to see the dress!

And thanks for the comment post!

Yeah, a lot of the Grammys is about who you know. I mean can you tell me why "Snooki" and "The Situation" were there?

Hmm?? Not, sure why the link to the dress didn't work for you. Try to cut and paste the link into your browser. Here's a different link to the dress...

Oh, by the way I like Esperanza Spalding's dress on her but I'm not sure how I feel about her shoes. I like that she didn't go for black but I'm not exactly sure pink was the way to go. What do you think?

Aaaah now it worked. Great dress for her because not many people can wear that color and it suits the jazz feel. She definitely stood out! I love the shoes, just not together with that dress. I would like them with a more structural dress.
