The Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards obviously brings the funk to the event, and I thought the colors, the drapery, and the print placements were just beautiful.

Chanel wore a BCBG Max Azria turquoise dress from the Resort 12 collection. This photo proves that sexy doesn't have to mean short and tight. Long and loose, with a free shoulder...wow.

Liv Tyler's  Proenza Schouler printed silk dress, fit her perfectly, and it was nice seeing her in a unique and colorful woven dress for a change.

Amber Heard's Cynthia Rowley (custom) dress was, though difficult to see in this photo, a pale pink color, with black floral embroidery.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen wore such different outfits, but matching bags set the tone for the duo - sophistication and style.
Ashley wore The Row, of course, and Mary-Kate wore a Chanel Pre-Fall '11 jacket with The Row skirt. The bags were The Row, and both wore Cartier jewelry.

I have to say, I hate the length of Ashley's dress and the feminine shoes, so I give her look a B and her sister's an A.

Alessandra Ambrosio wears red WELL! Her Prabal Gurung vermillion silk crepe gown showed the curve of her lower back perfectly, and the coordinating lipstick with a laid-back hairstyle gave her a "I'm just naturally hot" look.
Though...I didn't love the front:

Her "co-worker," Miranda Kerr, looked just as sultry in a Michael Kors cut-out dress and perfectly coordinating shoes:

Lady Gaga had blue hair and looked FABULOUS! I love this hair color and style on her more than any other so far! The Thierry Mugler was an expected yet unexpected choice, and I love it for her.

Lucy Liu often wears black, and if this was a sleek gown, okay, but this is a Monique Lhuillier ball gown, and it wouldn't have looked so goth if it had been in another color, like a pretty grey-blue or even a navy or purple.

Yes, I would totally wear this Pamella Roland jumpsuit. Are you surprised? ;)

Marcia Cross's bright red skin paired with the bright grey/silver sequins bring an "aaaah" moment.

Either Jessica Alba has great style, she has a great stylist, or a combination of the two. What a great look for pregnancy fashion! And the makeup is just gorg with this Diane von Furstenberg dress, which could wash out some skin tones.
