I LOVE BLACK. But this was the VMA's!
At least some made their black stand out with some punch. Kelly Rowland's long black hair looked so perfect with her Falguni & Shane Peacock dress and Christian Louboutin heels. Sultry!

Adele...aaah...I can't get over her voice, and her style, shown here in Burberry, was so vintage and gorg on her. I would've liked the dress a bit shorter and tapered, but she looked beautiful.
And the performance dress, also in black, fit her so well at the waist, it was perfection while she sang. I kept staring!

Selena Gomez wore a dramatic Julien Macdonald dress, Brian Atwood gold heels, a Judith Leiber clutch and Ofira jewelry. She kept her hair and makeup simple. The dress is very unique, though I would've preferred her in something that brought out some more curves.

Which look do you like better? I thought the second was super fun!
I am impressed by Zoe Saldana 90% of the time, but this time she just fell short in this feather Barbara Bui dress and shoes. The shoes clashed with the dress, from print to style, and her hair and makeup looked like she was kept waiting and the professionals never showed up.

Kim kardashian wore a metallic Kaufman Franco dress, which I appreciated. I didn't think it was very flattering though.

Katie Holmes normally wears clothing that makes her look very sophisticated and mature, and this time she tried to fit her audience by wearing an Azzedine Alaia halter dress and lace-up booties, and it just looked like she was trying to hard and it didn't work.

Miley Cyrus has a great body, but this backless Roberto Cavalli dress was another unflattering pick. I did like her earrings and makeup/hair styling.

Britney's back! The sequined Moschino romper and black Gina booties were the perfect mix of fun and sassiness for the VMA's and her body was rockin,' right?!

Demi Lovato finally feels good in her body and is showing it off in a Mandalay mini-dress. I do not personally love the in-your-face-pushed-up-breasts, but she is feeling confident and beautiful, and that is WONDERFUL and I think she looks beautiful as well.

Katy Perry wore an Atelier Versace dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. I loved the pink hair but didn't quite understand the rest of the outfit.

The Tom Ford purple lace dress was fun though!
Crystal Reed looked appropriate and stylish in an AllSaints outfit with Stuart Weitzman shoes and Lauhla by Misa jewels.

A Lanvin dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels seemed a bit dressy and mature for such a young show, but Beyonce did look beautiful. And her presentation of "baby" was fun and beautiful :)

What a group! Vinny and Pauly looked pretty good though.
All in all, I think people either tried to stand out by dressing really crazy, or they went the demure route and wore black. What was your favorite look?

The green dress was my favorite. I agree with you that some of the dresses were over the top and just wrong for the person. I also agree that beyonce looks beautiful and classy. That is my opinion.
