I am a fan of Chelsea Handler, and I will admit that I have my DVR set to record her show every day.
Who doesn't love a good laugh?
I've been noticing a trend though, which has nothing to do with the lovely Chelsea, and it's disturbing.
Two "stars" have gone on her show in the past month or so and have spoken about their daily diet:
Zoe Saldana and Anne Hathaway (the latest CatWoman).
One spoke about having to eat a celery stick while everyone around her eats pizza and tasty food because it's press time, and then she gets to eat other food again.
And the other spoke about having to basically starve to look good for press and for the movie.
What is going on?
Women are watching this feeling like they have to eat that way to look good. Men are watching thinking that's what women need to eat to look good.
How is this healthy?
Another movie star sharing her story about starving:
Why starve? Eating enough calories to feed your baby if you're nursing and being healthy should be the priority. Watching your diet while trying to lose weight is understandable but you don't need to feel starving two weeks after having a child.
Do you feel pressure or influenced by celebrities who have "good bodies?"
Do their eating habits affect you?
Are you worried for your children?
