When I heard about the latest weight loss contract with a celebrity, my thoughts started brewing.
The latest is with Jessica Simpson. Supposedly, she signed a contract with Weight Watchers to "lose the pregnancy weight."
After seeing Jennifer Hudson EVERYWHERE for her weight loss, I kept wondering who would be next...and here she is!
So then I started wondering what all of you thought about the celebrity weight loss contracts.
Just the other day, Sarah Palin and Joy Behar were debating Jessica Simpson's supposed 60-pound weight gain during pregnancy. So it got me thinking...would Jessica Simpson and other celebrities like Jennifer Hudson gain so much weight if they weren't going to be offered such outstanding dollar amounts to lose it? She said she's never felt more beautiful as when she's been pregnant, but this contract makes some wonder.
Personally, if someone is gaining weight because they are eating healthy foods and is hungrier due to pregnancy, great! We're supposed to gain weight during pregnancy! But when we hear 60+ pounds gained, it can be unhealthy for the woman and baby (gestational diabetes, etc.). She seems like such a beautiful person inside and out, and I wish the best for her and her baby.
A few articles out there right now on the topic:

Do you think these weight loss contracts push celebrities to feel like gaining lots of weight during pregnancy is okay or do you think they're just helping those they feel could use some assistance?
