I went shopping for amazing veggies again and turnips were the new veggie of the week :)
This low calorie, fiber and antioxidant rich food is something new to try, so let this Fall be your chance to add it to your diet!
They take a little while to soften, so while making dinner, we snacked on some raw red peppers and cucumbers, which was a wonderfully cooling start.
I made a turnip, yam, carrot mash as one side dish,....
...a red pepper, turnip, yam, carrot, kale baked side dish...
....and large wild sea scallops, with avocado and an amazing garlic, veggie, avocado tomato sauce to top it all off.

They were a bit bitter for my son, but if sweet potato were added to the mash for more sweetness, he would've loved it. Thus, I recommend doing that if you're making this for your family or are not used to a more bitter flavor.
