Nourishing your mind and body

I had an amazingly inspiring weekend.

One weekend shy of receiving my 200-hr YogaFit certification, I completed "YogaLean" this weekend. Unlike what the name would suggest, this certification focused on teaching yoga to those with eating disorders, whether Anorexia, Bulimia, Obesity, or a combination of two.

The teacher, Karen Cormier, was so nurturing, knowledgeable, and supportive that our small group felt so comfortable as to all tell personal, private stories about their own past issues that affected, or still affect, their eating habits. Karen's ability to use quotes and stories to resonate with us and inspire us to be our best selves was beautiful. She was also a wonderful example of how a teacher should be, without ego, a leader who smiles while guiding and soothing, and a strong woman in a multitude of ways.

When I told her how much I loved one of the quotes she read, she gave it to me right then and there. How does it make YOU feel?
I am passing it along to you right now:

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Fall down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

I have always been extremely interested in working with women with eating disorders, and now I am able to do so in more ways than nutrition, through yoga as well.
I look forward to assisting all you release thoughts, love and care for yourself, and nourish your bodies.

After two days of sitting for hours in between movement, I felt the need to go for a simple run once I got home, one that cleared my mind and gave me strength, one that tested my endurance and allowed me to think, "I can do anything. I am meant to do this, to help others."
I look forward to helping YOU.
