Sculptural Balenciaga

I have been OBSESSED with the Balenciaga black and white ruffles, so when I found an option that I could actually afford (haha), I went for it!

I definitely felt the sculptural shape and large ruffles needed an updo with bright accents.

Great Drapery is just GREAT DRAPERY!

Alexander Wang has always been known for great draped t-shirts, but now, heading Balenciaga, that he can do great drapery with every fabric!

The cuts, the lines, the structure yet "cool" feel is just awesome. And his creativity with painted knits that appeared to be leather...aaaah....heaven.

Making a recipe wheat-free, dairy-free and healthier

Someone tried these and said they were sinfully delicious. But she felt guilty eating them.

Here's to changing the recipe:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles
http://anniescookinglab.com/2011/11/12/cookie-dough-truffles/#

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened - 1/2-1 tb cocao butter and 1/2 cup organic applesauce
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed - coconut sugar and stevia mixture instead
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract - same
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour - almond flour instead
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk - unsweetened almond milk instead
  • 1 cup miniature chocolate chips - Enjoy Life Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips instead
  • Chocolate bark for melting (milk, semi-sweet, dark, or white chocolate) - Pure dark chocolate
  • Chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc for decoration (optional) - Enjoy Life Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips instead
Directions
  1. Use an electric mixer to cream the butter and brown sugar , add the vanilla. Slowly add in the flour and mix until incorporated. Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and beat until thoroughly combined, then miniature chocolate chips.
  2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour or until the dough is very firm (don’t freeze). Use a small cookie scoop to make tablespoon-sized balls and place them on a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet.
  3. Melt the chocolate bark in a glass bowl. Dip the chilled cookie dough balls into the chocolate and scoop them out with a fork to allow the extra chocolate to drip off. Place on the waxed paper and decorate with extra chocolate, sprinkles, etc.
  4. Serve at room temperature or chilled

Makes: 3-4 dozen

Try and let me know what you think!

For all of you

Vanity Fair Party

Neutrals and sparkle with a hint of pop color!

TOP 3 FOR THE FASHION AFTER PARTY:
1) Lily Collins
2) Kate Bosworth
3) Alessandra Ambrosio

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson
What a fun dress and shoes! And the added bracelet gives it a bit of a vintage feel, yet the pale blue nails add her usual spunk. She's just fun! And he looks great!
Jezebel
Kelly Lynch
Pure beauty. She looks like an angel.
Jezebel
Naomi Watts
Switch! Silver to gold and black and a little smokey eyeliner gives Naomi an edge and sexiness. Hot.
Jezebel
Kate Bosworth
As usual, the hair with the makeup is SO my style, and the dress is just so great for this event.
Jezebel
Alessandra Ambrosio
How intricate and funky while sophisticated as well.
Jezebel
Miranda Kerr
The sideswept wavy hair again...and I love the drapey, sheer style on her.
Jezebel
Leslie Mann and Solange
They just did what they want and I love it! Solange...wow...those colors on her are so amazing.

Lily Collins
How simply beautiful!

Oscars 2013 Fashion

Old Hollywood Glamour, Sparkle, Sideswept Hair, and Major Statement Jewelry were huge trends for the Oscars tonight, and what a fashion night it was...

FASHION WINNERS

WOMEN:

1) Jessica Chastain wore Armani Prive and Harry Winston, and she proved that Old Hollwood is here to stay. I thought the earrings were perfect for her dress. She wore sequins that looked anything but prom-like and was unique and fit beautifully. The color was perfection, the makeup couldn't have been better, and the hair bounced like she was in a TV commercial. PERFECTION.

2) Jennifer Lawrence was my #2 choice in a tulip Dior Haute Couture gown. I LOVE the way the necklace drapes across her neck and down her back. The highlighted hair with statement earrings and "pretty" makeup finished off her look.

3) I almost didn't recognize Olivia Munn, in a burgundy and gold Marchesa gown.

MEN:

1) Bradley Cooper wore a 3 piece tux, as well as slicked back hair and mustache. I'm not usually a fan of this hairstyle, but wow, he looked gorgeous.

2) Chris Pine looked dapper in his double-breasted tux, and the scruffy facial hair paired with a freshly cut hairstyle gave it a little edge.

3) Chris Tucker's extra floppy, large bow tie was awesome!

Runners Up:
Samantha Barks, from the Les Miserables movie, looked beautiful in this low-cut black dress and statement necklace.

Amy Adams, in a pale blue Oscar De La Renta gown, looked very pretty. I thought the hair was great, very refreshing and different for her, but I wasn't sure about the color on her even though her hair color changed to make it work better.

Zoe Saldana is just beautiful and can really do no wrong. She always shows great fashion on the red carpet. I thought that the belt was very different for this type of awards show, and the star pulled off the difficult look quite well.

Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum (just an adorable couple!) looked great and so happy (which always makes people look even better!). She showed off her baby bump so beautifully, and the makeup and hair were great as well. My favorite part? The green earrings with the black lace dress and plum lips.

Guiliana Dipandi showed her her new, shorter brunette haircut and paired it with bold, red lips. How beautiful! I also appreciated her wearing a gown that gave her more curves, especially when she stood from the side.

Kristin Chenowith really worked it tonight! This hairstyle with bold eyes is the best look I've seen yet on her. And the gown really elongated her petite, curvy figure.

Almost my #3 spot, Naomi Watts wore Armani Prive and sparkled for days. The perfectly designed cutouts showed off her beautiful collarbone, arms, and overall figure. And the little bit of shine on her eyes really made this look stand out.

Octavia Spencer wore a Tadashi Shoji champagne-colored gown, and the color and design were so beautiful on her.

A bit disappointed by...

Amanda Seyfried
Her style is always unexpected and amazing, and while she's a beautiful woman, the pale lavender and gold dress coloring didn't do her justice, and the chest area was pushed up a bit too high.
I like the cut though - halter is different for her.

Norah Jones
I was a bit shocked to see her on TV. She has definitely matured, but her style looked very dated, and I would've loved to see her cute look highlighted with great fashion and hair.

Kerry Washington
I loved the colors and think she is just the most gorgeous star in Hollywood right now, but I am not a fan of the bow or the Miu Miu pattern on her.
