Some of you know that I love ice cream. And when I say love, I mean LOVE. I would put ice cream up there with my love for jeans and boots as the THINGS I love most. Would you expect this from a Nutrition & Style Consultant?
I have heard and seen so many Nutritionists tell people what to eat to live happier, healthier lives while they have weight problems, and seen many Fashionistas snacking on candy throughout the day but eating little else to maintain their slim figures. Nobody is perfect, but I think it's best to practice what we preach. I really try to practice everything I preach, but my one vice is ice cream. 95% of my diet is super healthy, but I believe that it's healthiest not to be obsessed with any one thing, including eating well. It's okay to have that 5% be foods that are not necessarily beneficial to our health, but that give a feeling of joy, comfort, or just tons of flavor. What I don't like is when I feel like I NEED something. And if I expect my clients to listen to me, I have to listen to myself as well.
I NEED ice cream every day, not full-fat, fully loaded ice cream, but I love lowfat with healthy toppings. It is my end of the night cool down food, after my child goes to sleep and I sit down to do some work. I understand why I have the craving, so I'm half way there. But I am now challenging myself to vary my snack. I have challenged myself before, but now I am doing it in public, for myself and for YOU.
I grew up with a love for ice cream, but it only became part of my daily activity about 5 years ago. It is time to move on from the emotion and allow myself to eat because of my body's needs, not habit or emotion.
I will keep a progress chart and update you each month until I feel satisfied with the result. Follow me along my journey as I better myself for the both of us.
