Suiting Up For Work

I needed to buy a suit last week, and I was shocked to see the lack of quality and attention to fit and detail. I was on the hunt to find a black suit that said, "Sexy Secretary" but found "Lazy Secretary" and "College Graduate Wearing Her Mom's Suit" instead.

Here are a few that give the statement, "I am here to work and I am GOING to succeed."
Wearing a suit doesn't have to be boring.

How chic in white!

Tahari does it right:

Theory often knows the trick to look cool yet professional:

The basic black suit:

I bought this one, though the skirt was more fitted on me, and I turned up the cuffs to show the pinstripe detail of the sleeves. This model makes it look VERY corporate.
I also bought this skirt suit because I thought it was PERFECT to add a belt to and funk up a bit, but also a great addition to my closet for a sophisticated Spring/Summer look:

Throw a blazer over this dress and you'll look fashion-forward and ladylike:

For the bold fashionista, would you wear this?

Neiman Marcus also has several gorgeous suits: Neimans
And Nordstrom has beautiful blouses to go underneath: Blouses

And if you can't buy a suit, make what you're wearing LOOK like one!
This is just a black suit jacket and dress pants paired together with a white pinstripe blouse and some funky pearls...finito!
