It seems I've been a bit emotional lately...
over the passing of Whitney Houston.
Ever since I heard of her death, every song of hers being played over the radio or on TV has brought tears to my eyes, out of sadness, but mostly out of the true beauty coming from her voice.
Whitney was there for me during every life struggle, so suddenly I felt a bit fearful of the future - what would I do without Whitney? Another reminder just to listent to, "Greatest Love of All."
From her famous, "I Will Always Love You" playing over and over after my breakup with my longtime high school boyfriend to the most recent "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" that gave me that extra push during a major life change in 2011.
And then there were her famous songs to just have fun and dance to, like "I Want To Dance With Somebody." This woman had the most amazing voice, but she also had the most amazing energy and smile. Her ability to transform from carefree and wild to serious and sophisticated, from curly-haired '80s to sleek-bobbed, Whitney was one-of-a-kind.
Ode to Whitney...
