London Calling!

London fashion has some good things comin'!

ERDEM

This collection reminds me a bit of Leila Shams (my former coworker and amazing designer), just with the prints (her collections are much sexier and body conscious). This one is for the mature lady, but it could definitely be made to look younger with some edgy additions.

Example: The sheer long sleeve top with silk pants could have a leather or faux fur jacket added with some biker boots and a cute hat and it's a completely different look!
  • velvet, tweed, silk and silk satin, wool, cable sweater
  • ankle strap heels again (You'll see multiple versions of these in the London collections!)
BURBERRY

The multiple coat shapes, camel colored slim tweed pants, newsboy hats, sweater with fur sleeves, and platform shoes gave me the complete picture of the woman who would wear this collection.
Who do YOU think it is?

KINDER AGGUGINI

The hair - love! Blond high ponytails, blunt dark pin straight hair - the contrast was perfection.

And the slim pants were refreshing with the structured coats and tops.

Style Sight wrote, "Although he has been showing for four years now, he claimed it is with this season that really learned how to incorporate luxury into his collections."

HOUSE OF HOLLAND

The designer who usually shows the body's figure kept it prudish and a bit granny-like with high necklines, sweater vests, over-the-knee A-line skirts, colorful ankle socks with oxford shoes, floral patterns, and quilt look-a-likes, round toe heels.

My favorite item? The shawl with skinny belt in the last picture on the right. I would LOVE to wear that (along with the belt) with a pear of flared jeans and shiny black platforms. With big hair! Can you tell I'm getting excited? wink wink...

TODD LYNN

Showing hardly any skin at all, without being skin tight, these clothes have MAJOR sex appeal. And THAT is great fashion. These are women's clothes.
  • leather, fur, silk, wool
  • zippers and cutouts
  • skinny pants
  • leather sleeves
And do you see the shoes? I want!! Suede and leather platforms...
The monochromatic outfits with only a pop of color made a huge statement.

PETER PILOTTO

The sweaters make a statement all on their own, with such detail and length. The solids were unexpected in this collection, but they added to the ability to make a statement. The chain print and what appears like a patterned tie-dye combines casualty and the elegance of the nautical theme.

MATHEW WILLIAMSON

Black, white, grey patterns, and a pop of red...what could be better?!

I often love Mathew Williamson's collections, but this one especially stands out. The platform buckle boots with ankle socks (scrunched down, reminding me of the late '80s) paired with full coats and vests, and dresses, can easily be worn by both 20-somethings and 50-year-old women.

The varying hem lengths, styling and layering makes this collection one of those rare finds that allow mothers and daughters to share clothes in their closets (Who doesn't love to do that?! I remember borrowing my mother's expensive shoes during high school since we wore the same shoe size.). Fur trims, patchwork, chevron and zig zag prints gives us so many outfits to mix and match from one collection.
