"Amanda Jo Stephen, Jaywalking Suspect, Handcuffed And Thrown To Ground By Cops (RAW VIDEO)"
I wanted to share a controversial article with video that's gotten a lot of buzz recently.
Let's treat others with respect and think of people as innocently as possible - empathy.
Article Shown Here - Police Officers Arrest Jaywalker Jogger
My concern is that this woman was trying to achieve a goal, give herself a challenge, and/or relieve some stress by going on a run and exercising her mind and body, and instead, she is now traumatized and stressed out even more.
I do understand that "we" do not always obey the jaywalking rules and it causes deaths and injuries and that is really a very sad fact. I also think it takes two - one or more of the parties isn't be a defensive driver/runner/walker and it causes an accident.
But if there are no cars and the jogger makes sure of this first, why can't he/she continue on the run? And the music is supposed to be calming or motivating the jogger, so she wouldn't necessarily have heard the police officer. If she did or if she didn't, either way, it is never okay for a man to just grab a woman by surprise. He grabbed her arm and sent her into a major adrenaline rush - that's healthy. And then continuing to ask her name when who knows if they even fully identified themselves is scary! If someone grabs you and asks you your identification, how do you know it's okay to tell them when you don't even know if it's someone just dressed up as a cop?
There are so many factors, and I think it's important to get the conversation going, which is why I posted this controversial post. I am not taking sides as I see both points of view. I am simply stating that if someone is going for a run to de-stress and feel good and someone just grabs them because the jogger couldn't hear the person, that is not the answer.
