The SUBWAY....

As I stood on the subway today, I realized I was in a place of solitude, non-judgement, and gratitude.

A homeless man sat on a seat across from me, and each person who came on the train walked over but decided not to sit next to him, and ultimately decided not even to stand near him. He just looked on, and I felt very sorry for him because we don't know his story, and...everyone has one.

A woman to my left stood in a high-quality black floor-length trench coat and black heeled boots, her hair with slight waves from a curling iron.

Another woman, who was clearly not dressed as nicely, who did not look like she was blessed with much, was having the best time dancing to music playing from her headphones.

There were others, but these three people stood out to me on this day. I wanted to know each of their stories - I wanted to know more. I wanted to know who was truly happy and why.

And then I got off of the subway....

I found what you wrote very thought provoking. Next time i am in a public place and just taking in the enviornment I will take the time to take in the surroundings and wonder. Makes a person appreciate life.
