Body Message

Chanel Iman, a famous supermodel, speaks from a place in her heart, and it's important that we listen and receive the true message.

"When models are criticized for being too thin, it's just another form of bullying. It would make me feel so insecure when people used to say that about me, because you're not allowed to go around telling people that they're too fat and asking 'Do you ever stop eating?', are you?"

I think if someone is viewing another out of concern it's one thing, out of judgement and/or jealousy it's another. Either way, unless we KNOW, we really don't know! Maybe someone is eating well and is just small framed, or another is eating well but genetically will never be tiny.

I have received a few comments in my day, one person telling me I need to eat more, another exclaiming, "...your big booty," and so on and so on...it just shows that these comments can be hurtful and insensitive and we really need to think about how that person would feel before we say something to or about them.

Some thought I was too thin, but I was so strong at that moment.
I felt energetic and great at this weight!
I didn't feel as good here so I cropped the shot. I hate that because this was such an important day and I love this silly shot!
I know how it feels to feel "out of your skin" even just five pounds heavier than what feels good.

I am not someone who knows what it feels like to lose 50 pounds, as some people state in order to gain clients. I am not one who knows what it feels like to yo yo diet or have tried every diet out there. I know about the different diets, but I have really always tried to eat well, since childhood.

I do know that it's important to feel good, and most of us feel our best when we feel good internally and feel like we look good externally. I do know that it feels amazing to feel energetic from good foods, and feel like you want to run a few miles just because!

I have always made sure to speak directly to someone if I saw something that made me concerned for their well being, and if they weren't ready to talk, I didn't push. Someone needs to be ready and willing to make changes and pushing doesn't help.

I am here to help. Acceptance, appreciation, loving our bodies. And let's make ourselves the best we can be in all aspects of our lives.
I loved watching these women, totally free and unhibited, loving their bodies.
Eat healthy foods, exercise, try to limit stresses, and let's all just be happy :)
